Heavily contaminated water run off from two, 12 metre diameter tunnels under construction on this major road project in Dublin is being fed directly to PSD equipment for high quality treatment and disposal to the public sewer system. The water is fed initially to a 6 metre diameter circular sedimentation tank before being fed to an S3 high speed, long bowl decanting centrifuge for removal of the clay and silt particles. The resulting centrate is then discharged to the drain via a final sedimentation / inspection tank. Despite the fine grain nature of the sediment, near clear water discharge has been achieved without the use of any chemical treatment.
As part of PSD’s service to any company renting equipment, the project is receiving on-going field support, with regular service visits to the equipment and advice on equipment configuration and use.
