Thiess Pty Limited of Australia have completed tunnelling for the Victorian Desalination Project near Melbourne. PSD supplied Thiess with 2 No. 1000m3/hr Slurry Treatment Plants to support 2 No. slurry TBMs, excavating at 4770mm diameter. During excavation of the first tunnel, the STP provided 99% availability and during the excavation of the second tunnel, the STP provided better than 98% availability.
