Dredging and dewatering is under way on the Kishon River Project in Haifa, Israel. PSD is providing screening equipment, desanders, flocculation systems and centrifuge equipment as part of the major project to clean up the bed of the Kishon River. Special barges are dredging the riverbed and following dewatering by PSD's equipment, the dredgings will be bio-remediated. The treated soil will be used to build up the banks of the river, which will form the gateway to a large metropolitan park. The Kishon River was once regarded as the most polluted river in Israel, but the project has already resulted in a significant improvement in water quality and the return of wildlife that was forced to leave the river because of the pollution.
